Description:

Our client are a national award winning Construction Group who are looking to recruit an Estimator to work from their busy offices in Hampshire.

You will need a proven track record working as an Estimator on refurbishment & construction related projects. Smaller project values will range from £50k – £200k but larger project values will be as high as £5m covering all types of construction including ground works, steel work, fabric, trades and fit out.
Hours are Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm with an hour for lunch.

Key Purpose:
To be responsible for identifying key elements in relation to building fabric, mechanical & electrical installation through asset lists, drawings and site surveys and developing data in to financial proposals for inclusion within company tenders.

Principal Duties:
•Attend tender briefing and kick off meetings as required by your line manager.
•Prepare tender enquiries for specialist suppliers and analyse the tender returns and be active in the selection of Sub-Contractors for Tender enquiries.
•Use your professional & technical experience to estimate a wide range of construction materials & take offs for project bids.
•Review contract documentation to enable proper interpretation of requirements for each project including written client requirements, drawings, asset lists and sub-contract data and raise tender clarifications with bid team as required.
•Attend site visits to identify all relevant asset information in support of the tender submission.
•Formulate priced model in Excel, including all labour loaded asset information, sub-contract costs, consumables, access equipment and comprehensive requirements.
•Present cost models to peers, line manager, senior managers and Directors as part of the review and sign-off process for each bid.
•Have a reasonable knowledge of National Schedule of Rates.
•Communicate information effectively & in a timely manner with all relevant departments in order to achieve objectives & successful procurement of project tenders.

Qualifications:
BSC in Commercial Management / Construction Discipline or HNC or equivalent.
